I have a Santa fe 2002 Just today started showing a malfuntion indicator light, acording to the manual it says that is related to the exhaust gas regulation values. anybody who had this problem will tell me what it means, how serious it is, what may happen if I don't pay attention, do I have to take to the dealer or to any other mechanic? thank you in advance

It could be many things, the most common of which is a loose gas cap. Unless the light is flashing, it's ok to drive.
