I have a 2007 Highlander that I purchased new. I now have 52,000 miles on it, with absolutely no problems, until now. When I turn left or right and accelerate - -it stalls for 1 second after making the turn. I recently replaced the NGK sparkplugs and put in a new air filter, thinking that might be it. Does the 2007 V6 engine have a "gas filter" someplace that might need replacing? Any ideas? Thanks |

| I purchased my 2007 Highlander new. It also stalls after making a turn and trying to accelerate. I have had it in the shop a couple of times at Toyota and they have found nothing wrong with it. I have 45,000 miles on it and it has done this from the time I purchased it. Also, what problems could you have if EFI needs work? | |

What I'm experiencing, sounds similar to the problem of hesitation of the transmission shifting properly. With 52,000 on my highlander, I know it's going to cost a small fortune, just to take it into Toyota and have them look at it. And if they say, "nothings wrong" then you just wasted some money. I hate to take it to just any transmission shop, because they might not know the Toyota transmission, like the toyota guys do. But, my problem sounds like the post 30-40 down from mine. Thanks again. |

Not a good idea to be asking the front tire's contact patch to support high acceleration forces and extreme lateral forces simultaneously. It might also be the TC system. In a tight turn the outside wheel will be rotating somewhat faster than the inside wheel and TC might see that as drive torque induced wheelslip/spin, especially with higher throttle settings/openings. |
