Hum from Fuel Pump area??

I have owned a 2001 S10 for 3 weeks and Service Engine Soon light keeps coming on. Code is for having engine running when fueling (so repair shop tells me). So far replaced Gas Cap, hose line with a crack in it. There is a mid-tone constant hum coming from what I believe is the fuel pump area. It is mid-tone and will sometimes go to a high pitch. Any suggestions and could this hae something to do with the light? Also, is it possible to change bulbs in radio? sems like two are out - if so how?
