I'll first state that I live in Akron, Ohio just in case that will help anybody. When it comes to computer stuff, I know what I'm looking for, but when it comes to cars, I don't know what I'm doing, so I need to find out from somebody who knows what I need to do (please, and thank you). I have a 1996 Corsica 2.2 litre. I've already put a whole lot of money into the car after I bought it from the previous owner. She was in an accident and had it repaired, but for some reason they forgot the left control arm(?) so it was all screwed up. I got the suspension and whatever else under there replaced, bought a new gas tank, fuel pump, brakes all the way around, um... lots of stuff. And then the engine took a dump on me, so I bought a rebuilt Cavalier engine and the head gasket went on it. So I bought that sealant stuff and it sealed it very well (which surprised me). But now when the engine warms up, it sounds like maybe a bearing or something is bad. My point is I have already spent too much money on this car, and if I tried to sell it, I'd be lucky to get $600 for it as-is. I have a decent check coming in to me soon and if I bought a used car with that money, then I'm only going to have to put a bunch of money on it anyway, so I might as well just use that check and buy another engine for the Corsica, since I know already that everything else on it is new. I don't want to buy another engine unless I know for a fact that it's brand new. The problem is I don't know where to go to find one. I'm guessing around $1000 - $1200 for a new engine, but whatever it is, I want it to fit a '96 Corsica and I want to see it come out of the crate. Does anybody know where on earth I could order one and if there are any places near Akron, Ohio that could offer me some assistance? I just don't know where to look online. I've tried a few things and it's not the same concept as looking up computer parts. |
