To buy a new Yukon or Not by henriksen

I own an '05 Yukon with 45,000 miles on it. Things are starting to go wrong with it - noise when I turn my steering wheel, paint chipping off of my radio buttons and casing - light cover popped off of the door on the rear passenger side, leather looks bad on the passenger front seat. And I am certain there is something wrong with the electrical system, although I am afraid to find out (it was made in Canada).

So I am wondering if I should keep it (I have the extended warranty) or get into a new one before I pay it off completely so that I can recoup my extended warranty money?

If the recommendation is to buy new what would be the most I should pay for it loaded - doesn't have to be the denali. But is does have to be black/black!

Just bought it. Many nice features, but sorely lacking in storage area(s). I got the DVD package with the 2 sets of wireless headphones. GREAT until you are done & have NO PLACE to store the headphones. When I picked it up from the dealer, the headphones were sitting on the rear seats. Now I know why. Got the towing package which I really need. But when I take the hitch out of the receiver, I have no place to stow it. So it just sits behind the 3rd row seats and (of course) rolls around & scratches up the interior. This is a SLT2 top of the Yukon line, but there is NO SUNGLASS HOLDER to store sunglasses. This vehicle is just a pretty truck. Storage space is essential in a comfortable "ride", and the engineers flubbed up on this design. Not even a shallow little "trunk" behind the rear seats. Even my previous Envoy had that. The owner's manual insults my intelligence by having a section called "Storage Space". What it lists is the glove box, cup holders, center console, door side pockets, pockets on the back side of the front seats, and the luggage rack. What a joke!! I recommend that you seriously consider your storage needs BEFORE you buy a Yukon. There's no place to store something of any size, such as the trailer hitch. I've got to think similar models (Tahoe, Escalade) might have similar deficiencies. Think about "living" in this vehicle with all of your stuff and make the right decision before you buy. The interior design engineers of this Yukon should hide every time a Yukon passes them by on the street.
