Dangerous doors on the Acadia? by xando05

My wife and I went to our local dealer in Denver last week to look at the Terrain. Due to lack of availability of the Terrain, we decided to give some consideration to the Acadia. My wife went outside to look at the Acadia while I waited inside. After my wife returned to the showroom I went outside to see the vehicle. I took a look inside from the driver's door and then I preceded to open and close the driver's door a few times(one of my personal ways of testing body integrity/hardware.

When I opened the door fully, I carefully watched the door come to a rest(so I thought). The opened door continued to "twitch" back and forth about 5 or 6 times before finally coming to a complete stop in the open position. I thought I was seeing things until I opened and closed the door a few more times yielding the same result. I stood back from the vehicle for a brief second, to make sure the care was parked on level ground-it was.
Shaking my head in disbelief, I attempted to open the back door. I pulled the handle of the rear passenger door allowing the door to swing open only to notice something far far worse. The door opened fully, but rather than stopping at the end point, the door automatically closed without my intervention. I tried it a few more times with the same outcome. This is downright frightening to say the least. The rear door could injury somebody entering or exiting the vehicle. The door could easily snap shut on someone's fingers or legs or anything for that matter.

The salesman tried to come up with a reason for what I saw, only to say that the car has been reinforced with steel door beams for safety, etc. WHAT!! GIVE ME A BREAK. My wife and I eventually walked away, but before leaving the premises I had to show my wife the doors. She was shocked.

Is this really what quality GMC is producing these days?
