Hey everybody, new to the site and first posting. I have a question, I am looking at exhaust systems for my brother in laws truck, an 08 silverado ext cab with a regular bed. The exhaust I put on my Avalanche is falling apart (was just a cut in muffler) so we do not want to go in that direction. I did some research and it looks like there is a GM system available, part # 17802232 that is dual exh. from the cat back. This looks like what we want, but I do not know how loud it is. A nice rumble is desired, not an obnoxious roar.   I found a couple of listings on Ebay, one person has it at $600 which I thought was reasonable for a stainless system. (some sites have it at $1000) Anybody ever install one of these, and if so how is the sound?   I was going to post the ebay listing link, but as a newbee to this site I was unsure about the rules for that type of thing.   Thanks in advance for any advice! Replying to: obyone (Sep 08, 2009 12:01 am) Yea, I looked at the Borla (?) system and it was very expensive, twice the price of what I can get the GM system for. Price is a big consideration right now, we do not want to spend a thousand dollars plus on this. I sent a message to the guy selling the system on Ebay to see if he has more information about it. Ad states its all stainless with shiny tips and a polished muffler, not that anyone is going to crawl under this truck to look........ Replying to: harrythook (Sep 08, 2009 1:23 am) While I'll agree on the price part, the number one thing that will make your driving experience is whether the system causes in cab resonance at certain rpm. I had installed a Gibson system which gave me a headache at 1400-2000 rpm. No such drone with Corsa or Borla.   I was talking to the AC Delco rep. I did finally talk to the guy thats listing this exhaust, he was not too much help but did give me some contact info for people who are more knowledgeable about the kit. I am going to wait until the end of this auction, and see if I can actually grab it cheaper (I am a bargain hunter). This guy has a warehouse full of stuff that they are going to sell, apparently its just starting up now. All leftover from a company that got killed with the GM restructuring. He gave me a partial list of things that could fit this truck, so I am going to watch for a couple of other things to spruce up the vehicle. He has some rear seat entertainment systems (no interest) for hummers really cheap so I guess they are for real when they said rock bottom prices. I just wish he had more technical information about what he has, but I guess I can always ask in here if I see something that looks good.   Thanks again for the information!
