When trading in a vehicle, disclosure requirements? by stellablue19

I am in the market for a new (or pre-owned) RAV4, and will be looking to trade in my current 1996 RAV4.

When trading in a vehicle, what kinds of things are you legally, morally, or otherwise obligated to disclose?

The thing that worries me is that in the wintertime, the locks/mechanisms inside the car doors freeze shut and the locks are inoperable until it thaws out. And once you manage to open up a frozen-shut door, it won't latch closed again until it's thawed. I live in Seattle, so it's a rare occurrence but it's maddening when it happens and I find myself climbing through the rear door and over the seats.

Is this the kind of thing I need to tell a dealer when negotiating the trade-in value?

Thanks!
