Over the past 6 months we have experienced putting the key into the ignition, but the ignition refuses to unlock. It happens in any kind of weather, and at any time. We have tried wiggling the steering whell, which is usually quite stiff. We tried removing the key and putting it back in, removing the key and turning it over and then putting it back in, using the spare key, and even remore-starting the vehicle first. It sometimes takes up to 30 minutes to get the ignition to unlock so we can start/drive the car. Has anyone else had this experience? The dealership has seen first hand this issue, but claims that Hyundai will not pay to replace the ignition sinced there doesn't seem to be anything physically wrong with the car. We were stuck in a parking lot for 30 minutes in torrential rain this past weekend unable to start the car. Replies to this message: hjc1 (Aug 31, 2009 2:00 pm)

Replying to: alanzdba (Aug 31, 2009 10:28 am) The dealers response is totally wrong.... demand to speak to Hyundai district service managers. I would also call Hyundais corporate office to register a complaint. If all else fails take them to arbitration I believe the problem is with that dealer.
