Ford SVT engineer Hether Fedullo is effusive. She's explaining to us that the oil in the 2010 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor's dampers is a proprietary concoction that resists high temperatures so well that it endured the entire Baja 1000 without succumbing to heat-induced fade. This magic juice alone costs more than an entire conventional damper, and the Raptor has three levels of damping that varies according to shock position. 2010 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor First Drive and Video |

Mr. Kavanah states that the Raptor can do things, No other street legal pickup can accomplish. I was wondering other than the desert baja type of off roading what can a Raptor do that an Dodge Ram 2500 Power Wagon cannot? I would argue that a Power Wagon would go places that a Raptor could only dream of. The Power Wagon with its package could go places shown in the video without any trouble. Rock crawling I think the Power Wagon would dominate the Raptor, I know this is sort of a off road niche but so is desert-baja running. I would venture to argue there is a lot more rock crawling/slow off road of four wheeling done than anything else. |
