Hi - I am considering buying a 2005 Liberty Sport CRD with 105k miles. It has a suspension lift kit and looks very clean; one owner, who seems to have taken well care of it. We test drove it around the block and love dit. I live in Brooklyn and only need a car for fun weekends in upstate NY and the odd shopping trip. We are driving a 2002 Mini Cooper S now, which has been a lot of fun, but it's getting two small with a second kid on the way and driving around New York is close enough to driving offroad, with all the potholes around. We are European, so we love diesel (and would love it even more if it had a stick shift), and we obviously don't mind an entirely different driving experience. Anyways, any CRD owners who have well above 100k miles? Anyone in the mood to try to talk me out of it? Would 10k be an OK price and 9k be a bargain? Other imporatnt questions: 1. Would I have any problems getting this even registered and pass emission controls in NYS? 2. What should I look out for in regards to the suspension lift - it's not a crazy lift, maybe 2"? 3. Can I still expect decent mpg? 4. Can anybody recommend a mechanic in the NY metro area who knows anything about the Liberty CRD so I can have him check it out? Thanks! |
