2000 avalon gas door

The gas door on my 2000 avalon has a broken spring release and the door needs to be pushed open after the door release handle is operated. I need a new gas door with a new spring. The spring is part of the door, bad design. A new door would need to be painted to match black car. One off a junjyard car might also break so that in not a good choice. Any other ideas to solve this problem?
