My '91 Grand Voyager, 3.3L, dies suddenly after it has warmed up for 20-30 minutes. Driveability is just fine - until it dies. It will idle all day long, but after you drive it 100 yards, it dies suddenly and won't restart until it cools down. I replaced the engine computer two years ago, when my second camshaft sensor went bad. It dies when you put it in gear or when it shifts, and once I managed to drive in reverse for 200 yards when it started to die, so I replaced the transmission computer. But that didn't help. A mechanic -a good one I think - had it idling in his shop for two days, and found nothing. I'm ready to junk a nice minivan with 130,000 miles on it. I've never had that happen before. Could the problem be Needs a new ECU because this must be electrical. It dies instantly, like snapping a switch. Needs a new Input Speed Sensor - because these go bad frequently. But if this sensor was bad it would only hurt driveability, and could not stop the motor, right ? Needs a new Crankshaft Sensor - because it's almost the only sensor I have not replaced. Any thoughts, anyone ?
