The radio may have an internal fuse that has blown. Your mechanic may be able to test that. Also, whenever a fuse is blown it is important to determine what caused that condition in the first place.

Replaced the battery in my 2002 525i and now the radio MID is completely dead. No code request - nothing displays. Checked the fuse on the radio and its ok. Any suggestions?

Your radio may have an anti-theft device that triggers when the radio (battery) is disconnected. If so, your dealer would be able to reset it.
