Location and disconnecting event data recorder?

Anyone, please advise if you have found the location of the event data recorder? -------- To give an example, I also have a crown victoria and I traced the wires from the plug in for the diagnostic computer. About six inches in there is a "Y" with the wires that go to the left attaching to a lot of differentt stuff. The wires that go to the right all deadend in a plastic box that is buried behind the dash. this is the box that police and lawyers can get access to and track you driving record. By the way it does not disconnect the airbag system - all it did to my car was stop the wipers from working. It is illegal for dealerships to disconnect - while owners may disconnect.
