Mitsubishi paint problems

I have a light silver 2004 Mits Endeavor that looks much older because the paint on the hood and the roof has faded and oxidized so badly. Crown Mits in St. Petersburg, FL said it would cost $4,000-$5,000 to repaint the entire vehicle. I think that's ridiculously high. I might as well "upgrade" to a newer vehicle for that kind of money.

I have a 2004 black endeavor and the paint on the hood and roof of the car is coming off. The car looks awful and Mitsubishi is not going to cover the new paint job that is obviously needed.
