Interesting things are happening at every German car manufacturer these days, as they all rabidly pursue a niche-filling strategy put in place first by BMW about two years ago. Audi... Please step onto the ledge just a bit and give us a chance! Bring the A5 Sportback here, with either 2.0L gas turbo or 3.0L TDI diesel available. Find a way to market it well equipped just under 40k and tout the performance, styling and economy combination. I'll put a deposit down immediately! I'm about to give up on a stylish, high-performace diesel for under 40k. The BMW is sweet, but too expensive. C'mon Audi, I'm sure I'm not the only American ready for a combo like this!

Ok how thick could the headliner have to be that it would require re-engineering the roofline? Sure they didn't fool you? Maybe if A4 sales are going further down I hope Audi reconsiders.

I would love to see this vehicle make it over to the US. Especially with the 3 litre diesel. Bitte audi bitte!

More practical than the A5, more unique than the A4 and more stylish than the Avant. In either the 2.0L gas or the 3.0L diesel with manual or S Tronic it would be my choice for replacing my Avant.
