I have a 2006 Toyota V8 4WD Limited 4Runner. Can anyone tell me if the 2009 Toyota V6 4WD Limited Highlander has the same 4WD system as the 2006 4Runner?
The reason - I like my 2006 Toyota V8 4WD Limited 4Runner - 4WD system very much and was hoping that the 2009 Highlander would have the same 4WD system???
Thank you.

What Toyota models come with the same 2006 4Runner 4WD V8 system???

So does the Highlander have the same 4WD system the RAV4 have? (My sister has a 2005 RAV4 sport model)???

Thank you.

The RAV4 and the Highlander are quite similiar. The 4Runner is a very sophisticated and unique system. It might be somewhat the same as the Land Cruiser.

I suspect that if anything the newer 4runner 4WD system will be an improvement over the older one. The 4runner has an embedded reputation as being a TRUE 4WD vehicle. Unlike the HL and RX which have simple 1-wheel F/awd systems and use TC to "enforce" torque distribution once wheelspin/slip develops.
