I finally saw the HS250h on the street here in New England. It didn't look like any Lexus I've seen lately. The styling seemed boxy, reminded me of an Infiniti I30 from 10 years ago, not the more fluid lines of the ES, GS and IS. It also looked pretty small on the road. It created no presence at all.

Thank you Ronhs for answering my questions about the hs250h. Did you have to pay MSRP? Moderator---can we have two more open threads for this car now that it is available and people are buying it? ("Real world MPG" and "Buying experience and prices paid")

I checked out a base model yesterday. (Only one they had). I only sat in it and checked out all of the features but did not test drive it. I was quite disappointed in the feel of the interior. It just did not seem like a Lexus.......the Toyota Camry Hybrid seems more luxurious to me. The front seat was not comfortable to me. (granted, I had just sat in an ES and a GS). The seat is not deep enough for good thigh support. The leather on the seating was not the usual comfy Lexus stuff. Just cannot believe that seat memory is not included in the base model. The technology available for the vehicle is great....but very pricey. $44-$45K to get the bells and whistles for a car with a substandard, for Lexus, interior. No thanks. I'll pay far less for a well stocked ES and pay more for gas......or pay far, far less for a TCH and do without some of the bells and whistles. |

I can't understand why Lexus hasn't offered a hybrid/gas option in the ES350. Its the best selling vehicle they make & has been sitting on its laurels for the past 3 years without a substantial upgrade, except for the rising price. To introduce the HS 250h in this depressed economy is a question mark for me, unless Lexus/Toyota wanted to pat Obama and his environmental allies on their collective heads and say "Here, now get off our backs will ya?". I think the hoped-for market for this car is not there. Why doesn't anyone ever check with me before they makes these billion dollar decisions?
