The Volvo XC90 was released in 2002 and had an update in 2007. There was talk that the 2nd generation model due for release in 2010 was cancelled and now the current XC90 will get another facelift for it to sell until 2012. There is morre recent talk that the 2nd Gen XC90 when it does appear will be based on a Ford platform and that delivery is delayed as the design will not have to be redone against a Ford platform. So if the above is true, when is the facelift? Is it the 2009 car or will it be the 2010 car? And when do you think the 2nd Gen model will arrive? Replying to: darson (Jun 23, 2009 11:55 am) Currently, there is a new XC90 under development. It is based on the new EUCD platform. This is a Volvo platform that is the basis for the current S80, XC60 and the upcoming S60. The earliest you would see this car is 2012, maybe 2013.
