Anyone getting extremely load "road" noise from front end. I bought the vehicle brand new Oct 07. Loud noise started along with a front end shudder. Had front end aligned. Replaced the tires. The shudder has gone away but the loud noise remains. The noise seems to be about the same no matter what the mph. The car has 68,000 miles on it. About 50k of high speed highway driving. Any ideas?

Replying to: hybrid07 (Jun 21, 2009 6:19 am) You can test this a bit going down the highway. Wait until you're on a stretch of road where you have nobody around you and gently swerve left and right. If it's a wheel bearing you should hear some change in the sound when you swerve left or right as the loading changes on the wheel. You might also notice a change in pitch or intensity as you come to a bend in the road and make a turn. Again, be careful to NOT do this around other cars on the road as it does tend to make people antsy. you shouldn't even need to swerve out of your lane. |
