Hey every body i need ne and all major help here. I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500, it has a 5.9 liter motor, 4WD, Sport and Off-Road Packages, was in perfect condition, and not even 100,000 miles on it. Well on 1:30 A.M. Monday morning June 14 i was staying at my dads for the night. well at 1:30 he woke up to a horn blaring, so he got up to check what it was and he saw my truck with all the lights on with flames coming out from underneath the box of my truck (and outta the wheel wells). well by the time he ran down stairs told me and i ran back up stairs the cab was completely in flames and in seconds after that the gas tank blew up. The only thing we can figure out (and what the fire chief said) is that it was a short in sum wire in or by the tank. Now i'm try'n to go after dodge to get them to replace my truck becuz that should have NEVER happened, i have no money to buy a new truck, to help sum how prevent it happening to sumone else and it was my only vehicle. I have seen a few other cases where the same truck did the same thing to some other people and in one case there was an injury. i just need help trying to find out if there is ne one else that this happened to and if there is if i could get all the details to help me go against dodge with it.
