My 97 discovery has been operational and driving just dandy for years. Without proior warning I got in the other day and when I touched the brakes it sounded and acted like the front of the car or front axel was going to fall right off. It sounded really bad. I proceeded to brake to a stop and it got worse and worse until it completely locked up. I was able to get the car home in reverse. It drove fine and braked fine in reverse, but would not move forward any more. Has this ever happened to anyone else? Please Help. Replies to this message: hoffj045 (Nov 11, 2009 2:07 pm)

Then one day when i was driving down the highway it started to vibrate horribly, like the front end was going to fall apart. I have only once had it lock up on me, and it started to smoke very bad from the driver front break. i have yet to figure out what happened but you are not the only one.
