Greetings,

Know I can buy the "PAL" (Personal Audio Link) cable to connect my iPod in the glove box, but I've not been able to get any information in terms of how the iPod appears/is controlled at the deck itself? Can I see artist/cd/track on the deck? Can I shuffle and/or select by artist/playlist? Any help at all is appreciated!

I have been dealing, since December 2008, with a defective factory installed Nav. system in my '08 Lucerne Super. The Nav. system will route you as much as 6 hours further than my $200 Garmin for a trip from Little Rock, Arkansas to Atlanta, Georgia. The town I live in is over 200 years old and I live less than a 1/4 of a mile from downtown and the system will not route to the street my house is on even though the road is displayed on the screen. Also, if you have a "point of interest" (POI) already pinpointed in the system it will route you by the POI and have you make a legal U turn to go to the POI. The dealership attempted all the "fixes" they could so in agreement I contacted GM/Buick the first part of February.

Buick has replaced the DVD, done various system updates, and replaced the Nav. radio. The other week the dealership drove another Buick Lucerne equipped with the Nav. system and were able to duplicate the same problems I am experiencing. The determination the dealership and GM has made is there is an inherent software problem within GM's mainframe code that cannot be repaired. This software is not resident on my vehicle's DVD or Navigation radio.

Buick and the dealership are going to attempt to replace the Nav. system with a 6 disc radio but are not sure the reverse engineering will work! The new radio has been on order since the week of June 15th and is supposed to be in next week (July 6th).

I travel North Carolina to Texas and needless to say, having dropped the car off 8 plus times at the dealership and not having a fix is very frustrating. I have searched all over the internet and cannot find anyone else reporting this or similar problems. GM and the dealership act like my situation is unique. If you are experiencing similar problems please reply to this thread.
