my 99 silverado 1500 starts to shake at 60 mph .had the tires balanced several times ,upper and lower control arm bushings replaced,upper and lower ball joints ,shocks,rotors and still shakes i have 20" tires and medium profile walls. even changed them back to original rims and tires and it still shakes. from 0 to 60 rides great. 60 to 70 is the worst . any info or suggestions appreciated Replies to this message: obyone (May 28, 2009 3:09 am) johnc99 (May 28, 2009 5:47 pm) obyone (May 29, 2009 12:45 pm)

Replying to: johnc99 (May 27, 2009 3:32 pm) If your truck is a 2WD, there is a fix for this involving welding the rack and pinion to the frame. Replying to: johnc99 (May 28, 2009 5:47 pm) There is a replacement available although you're going to have to make sure it's the one that's welded to the frame. If you replace it with a similar one your vibrations will continue. I'll check and see if I can come up with a part number.

after looking at my rack and pinion ,turning the steering slightly back and forth ,the rack travels 1/4 to 3/8 inch back and forth . the bushings are shot . gonna try and replace the bushings 12.00 each and see if thats it. my buddies silverado has no travel at all so i'll give it a try
