The film is supposed to be transparent to UV (and all other) radiation, and indeed, from my experience at least, I could not detect any discoloration or difference in fading for paint under the film. I didn't apply the film to the doors--the kits don't normally include whole panels to cover doors, although I have heard of custom (pro) paint protection shops that can wrap your entire car if you'd like (probably a $1500-2000 operation, however, which I would question the value of). I should also mention that the trouble I had with the mirrors and headlights might have been because of imprecise cuts on the kit--as I said, different firms cut them differently.
