I'm looking at both of these SUVs.
The Rogue is cheaper, both money-wise and I think construction-wise but I'd like to hear other people's thoughts.

What does a Murano have that a Rogue doesn't, and vice-versa? I like the way they both look and drive. How do you Rogue owners like the car?

I really only need a base model of whatever I get, Rogue or Murano. I do not want leather or all the other 'fluff' as I'm replacing a 1999 Mercedes ML320 that my young teenage daughter has been using. So the "S" vs "SL" models is not really very important. Of course at this late point in the model year it may be difficult to find any 'base' models. When do the 2010's come out.

Thanks!

I guess it all depends on what you would like to get out of your car.
I just traded in my 1 year old Rogue SL/AWD with moonroof and got a Murano SL/AWD with leather, 360 value, premium pkg.
Rogue was good for a lot of things but there were things that I didn't like that Murano did much better.
Murano is:

-Murano is much quieter especially under acceleration (Rogue's 4-cylinder engine has the tinny and high-strung sound).
-Ride quality is better but Rogue was pretty good as well.
-Murano's engine is more powerful, smooth and linear.
-Interior quality is much better and comforatable (good in long trips) in Murano.
-Can tow 2000lbs more than Rogue.
-Eats noticeably more gas.

Bottom line is that if you don't mind Rogue's interior quality (nice and clean, just not luxurious), are fine with the engine/power, want lower price/better gas mileage then I say go with Rogue.

Rogue is a fine vehicle but now that dealers are cutting prices on Muranos and since I am planning to keep this car for at least 5 years or more and do a lot of travelling, I opted for quieter, more plush and comfortable, and larger/more powerful car. For everyday commuter with great payload capacity and gas mileage, Rogue will be just fine.
