The child safety restraint latch system on the second row seat of an '08 lexus gx470 behind the driver side of the vehicle is not positioned evenly, like the one behind the passenger seat. one latch is in the middle of the seat and the other latch is in the middle seat just on the other side of the seat belt recepticles for the middle passenger and passenger behind the driver. when installing a child seat behind the driver side, the seat sits at an angle. I have tried to adjust it and have it positioned as well as I can but I can't imagine this design was intentional. I checked out the RX and they have two latches on evenly placed on both seats behind the driver & passenger seats. Does anyone know why the GX is designed this way? I can't imagine it follows federal guidelines.
