He was not referring to the WPA projects of the 1930s. I have thought the flat tax would work. It is still not formulated in my mind. Most capital gains tax hit the middle class harder than the very rich or the poor. I would also pull my child out of an openly gay teacher's class. I don't want my children believing it is normal. What they do in their homes is their business. What they portray to my children is My business. No one has shown good evidence that repeal of Glass Steagall brought on the Sub Prime debacle. And I was tickled pink when the Hillary HC plan went in the toilet where it belongs. The whiner comment was politics in a campaign. Obama has said much worse. Like sharing the wealth is much worse in my opinion. As far as MJ. It is ignorant babbling by that idiot David Corn. Just his lame opinion with NO solid backing to make his case. I can give you tons of info with sources on Barney Frank and his unholy ties to Fannie Mae. Along with Frank Raines and the $billions stolen from US. You listen too much to Left wing radicals.

http://www.rollcall.com/news/39730-1.html Health and Human Services using website to pimp for Obama's healthcare spending plan. Encourages people to send Obama an email of support from their site. The Republicans could never have done anything like this. Can you imagine the evening news shows' indignation if President Bush's administration and Congress (before 2006) were to have done something like this? Once again the party types have two standards: one for them and websites pimping support and one for what the insurance companies can do to glean support. "Grassley notes that HHS has recently issued new guidance to insurers that they must obtain permission from beneficiaries before sending out mailers critical of the reform efforts in Congress. “The use of the official HHS.gov Web site for activities that seem to be nothing more than government propaganda raises many serious questions,” Grassley wrote."

The middle class per capita holds little of the investment capital in this country. I am pretty sure every other developed nation, including those who are eating the US for lunch, has a minumum wage. I'd be more concerned with how a school teaches math and science than with the orientation of a teacher...but I'm not very middle American in that regard. It only seems to be an issue in this country rather than elsewhere in the first world, I wonder why that is. More hollow morality. Gramm has no right in the world to call anyone a whiner. I'd like to see him work in the real world, standing on merit rather than connection. He wouldn't last an hour. He's never known anything other than public sector cronyism. He was the sleaziest person McCain could have possibly associated with. I can tolerate the Wasilla squawker more than him Which accounts in the MJ are not backed specifically enough for you? Frank and crew were never touted to be economic advisors, either. No doubt there is blame on both sides for the mess...but a key evildoer on the right has never been castigated as he should. Economic terrorist. If I want to see money stolen from "US" I will look to the Israel-firsters and big banking/finance before anyone else - key proponents of the neocons who now own the GOP with no end in sight.

If food stamps were only good for staples like fruit, vegetables, eggs, meat, cheese, milk etc we would not be a nation of porkers. Same lobbyists that gave US ethanol are killing the population with processed foods. Can you imagine the stink they would put up if the poor could not buy that nasty cereal they sell with food stamps? As far as Phil Gramm is concerned. He is just another wannabe elitist like Barry. People like that will do anything it takes to accumulate wealth and power. If I was UBS I don't think I would have hired him after they ended up with a lot of sub prime properties. I would be willing to make a small wager that Gramm did not end up with as much cash as Frank Raines in the Sub Prime mess. In 2006, the OFHEO announced a suit against Raines in order to recover some or all of the $90 million in payments made to Raines based on the overstated earnings,[6] initially estimated to be $9 billion but have been announced as 6.3 billion.[7] Civil charges were filed against Raines and two other former executives by the OFHEO in which the OFHEO sought $110 million in penalties and $115 million in returned bonuses from the three accused. On April 18, 2008, the government announced a settlement with Raines together with J. Timothy Howard, Fannie's former chief financial officer, and Leanne G. Spencer, Fannie's former controller. The three executives agreed to pay fines totaling about $3 million, which will be paid by Fannie's insurance policies. Raines also agreed to donate the proceeds from the sale of $1.8 million of his Fannie stock and to give up stock options. The stock options however have no value. Raines also gave up an estimated $5.3 million of "other benefits" said to be related to his pension and forgone bonuses. So Obama's financial advisor ends up with more than $80 million from Fannie Mae, that is coming out of tax dollars you and I paid. Show me some data where Gramm made any where near that off the tax payers back. He did not de-regulate the banking industry by himself. Over half the Congress Dems included and Bill Clinton were just as involved.

My question is what did Barry do the many years he spent in Chicago? Did anything improve? Did he even make his surrounding neighborhood any better? If he could not get the slums of Chicago back on a productive path, how is he going to do it with the whole country?

For info on local impact he had, I guess you'll have to ask the eight Catholic parishes he worked for when he ran some church based community organization in Chicago, before he went to Harvard.
