I wonder what he's saying about Palin quitting. That's an odd one.

It does not surprise me that much. The Democratic smear campaign made it difficult for her to push her conservative ideas in Alaska after she came back from the campaign.

She is now free to campaign for National candidates she can believe in like the Senator in Georgia that she pushed over the top in the run-off election. In spite of those that think only Ivy League graduates are capable of running the country, I would rather put my faith in someone like Palin. Palin cleaned up much of the corruption in Alaska politics. Whether she could do the same in Washington DC is a bigger question. Anyone can do as well as the wonk we have in the WH currently. He make Dubya seem bright by comparison. His stimulus has done NOTHING. We are losing jobs at a record pace. Where is the $800 billion stimulus going.

This says a lot about Palin's politics. She could have hung in long enough to get a state retirement. Self imposed term limits are commendable.

"Once I decided not to run for re-election, I also felt that to embrace the conventional Lame Duck status in this particular climate would just be another dose of politics as usual, something I campaigned against and will always oppose," Palin said in a statement released by her office.

Makes her look like a quitter. Her replacement is a steady sort at least.

Cowardly Ivy League grads (from both sides of the aisle) who have created the mess we are in, or questionably educated hicks who don't practice what they preach in their own lives who live in a void of economic, domestic, and foreign policy knowledge and credentials. Tough choice. The same old adage holds true for the American voter as it has for generations now - no matter who you choose, you lose.

I'd like to see her run in 2012, to put the elephants a few more feet in the grave

I like seeing neocons complain about the stimulus package, which I agree is a tenuous at best plan - but they continue to offer no alternative. I don't see piece of crap Gramm, who claims to know so much about economics, offering up any suggestions either. If one is going to whine and moan, one must present a solution, if not, they have little right to complain. It's put up or shut up time for the GOP and its fans.

The US was technically bankrupt way back when Barry was a grassroots organizer.

No legitimate fiscal conservative supports giving billions a year to Israel and in tax breaks to the least accountable segment of society built on flawed trickle down bs.

I look at it as more strategic. If the Lt. Gov is as you say a solid sort. It gives him a real chance to prove his worth prior to the next election. Should give him a running start on winning in 2010. If they share much of the same ideas for Alaska it was the RIGHT thing to do. If Palin's plans are not politically motivated she may be wanting to get more involved in pushing the gas line through Canada. That was her pet project when she headed up the Oil and gas Commission. As well as during her tenure as Governor.

In my Opinion her lack of education is overcome by her common sense. Something that seems totally missing in Washington DC. I would not tack quitter on her quite yet. I don't think we have seen the last of Sarah Palin by any stretch. I really would not expect her to go for the Presidency in 2012. That is a long time off and Barry will have pretty well buggered up the economy by then.

Unless he has some kind of bubble up his sleeve.

Follow the money. She stays governor, she has to disclose the terms of her book deal. As a private citizen she doesn't, and she can go do what Mitt Romney is currently doing, without a lot of oversight or ethics complaints.

Or follow the muckracking. The rumor on the street is that an indictment is pending for getting her house build free by Todd's friends ... while Todd's friends were building a giant public sports complex down the street.

She's been a quitter before though - she didn't serve out her term on the Alaska Oil & Gas Commission either.

One thing she'd done is help the HuffPo web hits. I didn't think I'd revisit that site until the next election.

I'm ALWAYS a bit LEERY of people who write in sporatic CAPS with lots of !!! too. It doesn't make for effective communication to me. Palin Announces No Second Term

You mean SpOrAdIc? I am leery of Presidents that use the same line to describe every problem he faces. Or totally evades questions he is uncomfortable answering.

I think SPORATIC best describes our President.
