So my girlfriend noticed her check oil light was on and called me. I talked her through checking the dipstick and she said it was completely dry so I told her to put some more oil in it before taking it in to the shop since I'm not very car savvy and wouldn't know where to start. Here's the catch though. I didn't explain nearly enough on the phone apparently, because she started pouring the oil down the dipstick tube and had poured a lot before she asked a question that made me realize what she was doing. Now I'm wondering what to do about it because it seems like a pretty big blunder and a possible huge accident waiting to happen. Can anyone please recommend a course of action? It would be very much appreciated! If it makes any difference, her car is an '03 Cavalier. Mark |
