I'm interested in purchasing a truck so I can plow my own driveway - no commercial work - and not a family vehicle....
Occasionally I see trucks referenced as a work truck and others as a light truck, besides price I can't tell the difference between the two - some clarification would be helpful. I'm also looking for the bare minimum requirements for plowing a steep driveway.

Don't know if this helps but I purchased a used work truck and it doesn't have any of the bells and whistles the more expensive trucks do. Roll down windows, not electric, manually adjusted side view mirrors, rubberized floor covering (no carpet), It does have the CD/XM sat ready radio, AC, tire pressure monitoring system, etc. Mine had 14K miles on it and I got it for $18K.

That does help. I hope to find a similar type truck (14K for $18k). If I want to put a small sander on the truck, do I have to go with the 3/4 ton, or will a 1/2 ton be acceptable?
