That is an old photo. You'll notice, down by the lighter/power socket, the USB port isn't there. That was an 09 addition if I remember correctly.

Of course, it could also have been dropped for 08, I really don't know. But it's definitely not in the 09s and that is definitely not an 09 photo.

Picked up my Elantra Touring (FD) last month (July '09) and I'm loving it. You can see pix of it here: My Photo Album
Bought the standard 5 speed, and the B&M Racing sport shifter is quick and responsive, the clutch is nimble, and the engine seems to run fine with lots of low torque. The interior is much the same as the '07 Elantra I had, and the hatch is large and roomy, with a nice storage tray under the rear floor, above the spare.
STANDARD features include: sport suspension, 16-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, power windows, locks and heated mirrors, remote keyless entry, AM/FM/XM/CD/MP3 audio system with USB and auxiliary/iPod inputs, and a tilt & telescoping leather steering wheel with audio and cruise controls. Standard safety equipment includes electronic stability control with traction control, four-wheel anti-lock brakes, tire pressure monitoring, active front head restraints, six airbags and fog lights.
July 2009 - Added mudflaps; tints (35% front / 15% back), August: added 'vent shades' to front door windows

Looking good in Black. I have the Carbon Gray and it looks sharp. I am interested in adding vent shades to the front door windows, where do you get them, also I am going to get the windows tinted.

The Forte is not built on the Next Gen Elantra Platform. When the Next gen Elantra comes out Forte will be old tech for 2-3 years like the Spectra was, trust me. Remember KIA is becoming the cheap and "Eco" sport alternative to Mazda. Hyundai is trying to be an "Eco" oriented Aspirational Luxury brand, thats an alternative to the smaller Lexuses, SAABs, Volvos, and Audis, while competing with MINI.

By the way guys, SAAB and Volvo may have more comfortable seats, but in terms of fuel economy, value and long term reliablity this Elantra Touring has to be the Aspirational Luxury car of choice here. Plus, who wants to gamble on 2 car companies that might not exist in 5 years.

My 2007 Accent has a 60K (Severe Usage: Standard usage is 120,000 miles) timing belt interval as well, but ive Never changed it and it has 90,000 miles on it (all 89,032 mostly highway miles I put on it myself). The Forte has a lifetime belt, and the Elantra will get it in the refresh.

The Accent has been a reliable vehicle in the past for Hyundai, but this current gen one takes the cake, it only Hyundai North American CEO John Krafick will follow his committment for the next gen model "By Genesising the Accent up." Youd be a dumb ass to choose any B-segment car thats not an Accent (Well Fit is a good Choice only for the 5 doors). The Accent is a Value where you cant fail (Well except not having 5 doors). The Accent will be Replaced by a bigger 5 door Hatch and Sedan and the Veloster will be like an "Accent Scirocco."

Back to the C-Segment Elantra and Forte here. The Elantra will get refreshed for 2010 MY(On Dealer lots in October), and replaced in the late 2011 MY as a 2012 model. The Elantra will get a Coupe and Wagon version The Forte will be a highly Modified C'eed as a hatchback, ala Spectra 5=Mazda 3 hatch Competitor.
