Please help! What pick-up should we get??

We are looking for a new pick-up for my husband. I had a REALLY easy time nailing down & researching for my van (Honda Odyssey is FABULOUS!) here on Edmunds, but I'm CLUELESS about trucks--and my husband is the guy who walks into the dealership "just looking" and comes out with their "deal of the century" (which usually it isn't!!). Here's what we would like: --crew cab (we have three little kids) --4 wheel drive --bench seats (prefer cloth) --not breaking the bank He currently has a '98 Silverado and has LOVED it all 168,000 miles, so I think we'd like to stay with that. But what are we talking about price-wise for the things listed above? The MSRP's are no help at all--what is a real-life number we should expect to pay?? THANKS!!! Replying to: sarahandbray (Apr 30, 2009 12:17 pm) With auto sales in the tank due to the economy, I'd suspect invoice minus rebates should be the going rate. With all the hoopla going on with GM and Chrysler, I'd look at Ford first. Course that's just my opinion as a former Silverado and now Titan owner.
