When we first heard Cadillac officials mention the RX, we were worried. There's nothing wrong with the Lexus RX 350 if you like soft, ultra-isolated mom-carriers (and obviously a lot of people do). But what about a V8? What about rear-wheel drive? What about the momentum that the second-generation CTS and spectacular CTS-V have created in the sport sedan market?

You guys have the nerve to complain about the interior design of the SRX but think the hideously designed interior of the RX is nice. More and more I question your judgments and prefer Autblog's reviews.

I have to agree with you on that one, the new RX took a step backward in terms of design. I saw both in person yesterday at NYC auto show and the Caddy was downright handsome while the Lexus was very awkward looking.

Why is it that Lexus gets penalized for making comfortable vehicles that just happen to be some of the most reliable? There are obviously about 80,000 people that think differently each year (In the case of the RX). Sporty seems to be the new mindset of the tender aged, but in the real world of stress, traffic, and the daily grind, I would much rather be de-stressed when driving home from work than feeling every crack, crevice and pothole while racing to the gas station. ‘Fun to drive’ is a relative term!

I have often wondered the same thing about all the harping about the RX being too soft, and -- oh, yeah, the mommy-mobile. Well, I'm not a mom and I drive one. I also like the cushy ride when driving out in the urban jungle out there these days. I actually feel soothed when driving the RX!!! P.S. plus listening to some great tunes on my XM radio and my CD's adds to a nice driving experience.

I like it, but wouldn't buy one, GM has too many troubles. Not sinking money into a GM car. Big ole money pit. The car might just fall apart when driving it off the lot, they have to save money some how. Anyway, I like it, reminds me of the CTS look.

I am so amazed at the automotive press and also the public. I will be the first to admit that the American auto companies earned their reputation for non-quality product, but have made impressive strides to overcome these issues. However the automotive presss is so quick to nit pick about the American autos while being so accepting of the foreign brands, even when they are lesser vehicles. I wonder what is happening to this country and the mentality of the people and the press. I have seen both vehicles, the SRX and RX and hands down the SRX is the winner. Also GM has been producing world class drive trains for some time now, and this combination can only but produce a world class product. Yes I realize that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but to not even comment directly on this in your write-up is criminal.

Judging from the pictures, the 2010 SRX looks very promising. But I'd like to wait and see one in person to really get a feel for the overall look. I think they should have given a new name to this vehicle. It's funny that now we're going to have an "RX"(Lexus) and an SRX(Cadillac) on the road soon. Yes, I know these monikers were already out there on the road to begin with, but now the SRX definitely has that crossover look as opposed to the station wagon look from the previous generation.

I don't think Lexus really cares what a bunch of so called "enthusiasts" think about their vehicles, nor do their customers for that matter. Its the reason why they continue to make cars with proper luxury rides, like they did with the first Lexus. Comfort is a large part of luxury and thats the reason Lexus happens to be the best selling luxury brand.

On a side note I nearly laughed at the pricing of the SRX. Of course, there will be some who will buy it to save GM but the idea of someone who would buy the SRX simply because of ride issues of the softer RX is laughable. Lets see how well the SRX interior holds up. I have yet to see a Lexus with quality issues. Cadillacs on the other hand, I've seen way too much of them. The current CTS seems good though.

For adopting the Honda/Acura SH-AWD system, the best of the best for a vehicle with sideways mounted engines (base FWD vehicle). Second, for adopting a rather small but appropriate 3.0L engine and then using DFI to bring HP up to the equal of Toyota/Lexii's 3.5L.

Never, NEVER, thought I would ever own a Cadillac, but.....
