You are in the Toyota Camry Forum. Your Hosts are pat & karens
I have maintained this vechile very carefully by the book but since 2006 I have a problem sometimes not all the time with applying the brakes and the gas peddle sticks. This is so unsafe and no one at Toyota has heard of the problem. They think it might have something to do with cruise control cables. Can anyone help??

Can anyone tell me what it would take to replace the cable that runs to the battery? It's a bundle of wires, not the battery cable. I had a relative replace my battery and he cut the battery wire rathere than taking the clamp off. Don't get me started. Help anyone??

If that is not the case, then ignore everything else I'm writing. Your solution will depend upon whether the remaining cables are long enough, that you can put them into a replacement battery connector (you can buy these at auto parts stores). If all of the cables will reach the battery when put in a new clamp, then you have a fairly easy solution. If they do not reach, then you are going to need to get a very thick battery cable about a foot long, a replacement battery connector, and a very heavy duty (bolt tightened) wire clamp. With one end of the new battery cable, connect it with the wire clamp to the cut wires. The other end of the battery cable, put on the replacement battery connector. Cover the wire connector clamp, with many many layers of electrical tape and secure the line from vibration. That new battery cable needs to be thick enough to handle over like 150 Amps, so do not try to jury rig some cheap solution. Of course, you'll need to strip back the wires he cut, to get a good electrical connection to those wires. Do all of this splicing, while the battery is out of the car so you don't shock yourself.
