Hello, Recently I had the knock sensor and o2 sensors replaced. That was the solution to check engine light. I am not a car expert so I trusted the repair tech. I noticed , and I think this was even happening before I did above, that in order to start the car I need to press on the gas pedal a little. Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong? Replying to: blwegrzyn (Mar 31, 2009 12:44 pm) I had three injectors changed on my '99 Quest a few months ago (in addition to a knock sensor). But mine wasn't starting hard before that, but it sure started running rough after the check engine light came on and threw the knock sensor code.   I'm not much of a mechanic but it sounds like some sort of fuel system problem. Or maybe it just needs a dose of Techron.   One thing you can do is turn the ignition to ON before cranking the van. If that helps it crank easier, you may be able to live with it that way (turning the ignition on starts the fuel pump and pressurizes the system).   If that tricks helps, it could indicate a fuel pressure regulator problem. When I had it scanned it told me my knock sensor was faulty. But an engineer said that a KS by itself wouldn't turn on the CE light. when I got inside the distributor I found that the bearings had failed and there little pieces of metal all inside the space around the coil. That's what was causing the problem. --grateful fred
