Hello, Recently I had the knock sensor and o2 sensors replaced. That was the solution to check engine light. I am not a car expert so I trusted the repair tech. I noticed , and I think this was even happening before I did above, that in order to start the car I need to press on the gas pedal a little. Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong? Why the engine does not start without using the gas pedal. Edit: I forgot to tell that once it starts and i drive for some time then it works fine. thx

Replying to: blwegrzyn (Mar 31, 2009 12:44 pm) I'm not much of a mechanic but it sounds like some sort of fuel system problem. Or maybe it just needs a dose of Techron. One thing you can do is turn the ignition to ON before cranking the van. If that helps it crank easier, you may be able to live with it that way (turning the ignition on starts the fuel pump and pressurizes the system). If that tricks helps, it could indicate a fuel pressure regulator problem. See this Edmunds Answers post too. Steve, visiting host |
