The last thing General Motors needs right now is to appear as if it's stuck in the past, creating gas-guzzling cars that are out of step with what the federal government thinks is the future.

The last thing is having our President, and the U.S. Congress bailing out auto companies. The Camaro, and other sport coupes will either survive or not survive based on demand of the market place, not on the basis our U.S. Congress tell us what to purchase and what not to purchase. Frankly if you are willing to give up your freedom of choice so be it, but for the majority of us we will build, buy, and fuel our vehicles with what ever we choose because we still have the freedom to do so. I am really getting tired of the oil crunch on how short the supply is because it isn't, the sheiks and the oil barons have cried wolf to many times, if there is a oil shortage it is because they the Arabs, and Iranians are creating it to control and maintain the price per barrel. The best thing that can happen is to let GM go through bankruptcy court, and then maybe GM will be able to get free of Barney Frank and his bunch of happy merry men.

One thing for sure, I am not going to listen or obey U.S. Congress mandates, because they work for their skins, not us, just a short reply of opinion from a dissenfranchised U.S. citizen and car enthusiast.

i understand and agree if GM doesn't stop it's nonsense with the obama administration i will be done with them. i have been a loyal customer for thirty years and would like to remain so. the problem is a government out of control and manufacturing cars!

I cannot think of a single government controlled program that is as efficient and well run as a privately controlled business. I could be wrong, but the government does not worry about being effiicient. It appears that the government was "politically selective" on the elimination of dealers that were owned by Republican owners. Not just one or 2 but a bunch. With the governrment in control, a Chevy Cobalt SS will be labeled as
unneccessary. We will all be driving the same car, that will cost 20% more.">

Paying for oil from the Gulf, Iran, etc is a national security issue. Why contribute to the Iranian Nuclear Development Fund or to a lousy balance of payments? Having said that, the new Camoro is really cool and I wish GM well. With the Volt at 230 mpg, you can afford to produce a few Camaros and I want to see American manufacturing suceed.

How long before the Camaro and Corvette get the standard Chevy truck grill every other Chevy has?
