The other day, I noticed a rattle coming from, what I thought was, the passenger side under the body. It would rattle just a smidge when I downshifted but if I put it in neutral it did not make the noise. Now, it may be a coincidence but, this afternoon I was driving up the road and when I went to accelerate in 3rd gear it acted like it was not getting enough fuel to the engine. I also noticed that over the course of the past week, it has been a little "jumpy" when accelerated - kind of like it wanted to die or was running out of gas but it has a full tank. Today, I was able to coast it in to a parking lot, but when I "gunned" the motor while parked I could tell it was not getting full power. I'm afraid it is the fuel pump but could it also be the fuel filter? I have talked to a few people who said that when the pump gives out, the car dies completely - won't start again. Mine did start again but you could tell it was not getting enough fuel and/or power. I need to know what kind of money I am looking at. Thanks and sorry to drag this email out. I just wanted to be specific. I think I covered that!!
