Welcome aboard jerry. Looks like you made a fine purchase for a first time Hyundai owner.
I've been one since 2004 and plan to keep my trouble free car for 10 yrs till 2014.
And that's saying something as I never kept a car for that long before. And I've had planty.

I have to give you an "A" for doing your homework and research... I like that....lol
Yeah we might as well get the best MPG car we want to get if we're keeping it for 10yrs. That's why I bought a 4 banger for trips 6 yrs ago.

As a matter of fact I just got done reading an article about the "Imminent Crash of the Oil supply" starting in 2011. Not a good time to get a pick-up trk....lol

Motor Week will do a Sonata test drive on the Speed channel next Sat the 8th. I believe it comes on at 6am Dallas time.

Thanks for the compliments. I think it's a sure thing oil prices will increase. The Obama administration will not do anything to curb it, in fact I suspect that policy will inflate the prices, the regulatory costs, and the taxes.

Motor Week episode 2935 will air today (Sat 5/1) at 3:30 on KERA. Will record it. They liked it - this is apparently a transcript:

If you get the SE trim they new Sonata is definitely on par with the Mazda6, which is best in class as far as sporty mid-size cars go. I would take my SE up against that car any day. Of course the acceleration, while very good for a 4, is not on par with the Mazda6 V6 - but that is what the turbo is for.

With the price of gas going soon to $4.00 gallon, who you think BP is going to pass the cost of that oil spill in the Gulf to? I`m waiting for a new B-Segment gas sipper with 40 + m.p.g.. If you don`t need the extra room and comfort, the new Accent replacement (Verna) is going to be a killer!

You can find them at:" B & I interior dash kits". I am not handy, so I am having a auto trim shop put it in. There are other places on the web were you can buy them.
Google:" Interior dash kits ", or wood grain dash kits.
They are charging me $300 for kit and installed. Make sure you get a kit that uses 3M. My kit is a 15 pc.,you can get as many as 34pc. I think that would be to much.
If someone could tell me how to post pictures on this sit I will when it gets done. Should be done in about 10 days. It going to take about 7 days to get the kit.
I love my camel Leather interior with my Black Plum car , I just don't like all that black inside.

#2704 of 5326 Strut Bar by syitalian25

May 01, 2010 (3:17 pm)

Hey everyone,

I have had my strut bar from Sharkracing.com installed in my SE for a couple of days, and it has made a major improvement. The handling and turning are much more secure, especially at the car's limits, and I know if you put it on a slalom before and after the bar there would be a significant improvement. Aside from that, the bar has really tightened up the feel of the SE during normal driving and while going over road imperfections - it is much more secure and refined and closer to the Limited's ride when not being pushed now.

Installation was as simple as unscrewing 6 nuts with a ratchet, fitting the bar onto the bolts, and replacing the nuts. Super easy even if you are not mechanically inclined, and for $92 (including shipping) it is a very worthwhile improvement on this car. Here is the one I ordered, shipped right for Korea and made specifically for the 2011 Sonata.

Very sorry to hear about Pat, even though I had to get spanked a few times. I guess I deserved it as I don't have very much patience for some folks.

My condolences go to her family and her friends at Edmonds.

I lost a sister at 47 and last month my sister-in-law at age 50 to a brain aneurysm. Was very shocking. And goes to show that we should enjoy every day, appreciate life and our loved ones and not take tomorrow for granted.
