I've had my 2001 Grand Prix GT for about three years now, and frankly, I'm getting quite bored with it. So... I'm thinking about doing a series of serious mods to make it a lot more fun to drive, at the expense of... well... everything. Here's my current list of to-do things: 1. Replace the 3.8L V6 with a 350 (5.7L) V8. 2. Install a 5 or 6 speed manual transmission. 3. Convert the car to a rear-wheel drive format. 4. Repaint it a dark metallic gray. 5. Black out windows, headlights, fog lights, and tail lights. 6. Re-work exhaust line so it ends with dual tips shortly before the rear tires on each side. 7. Replace the interior with a darker color. 8. Add a welded-in rollcage. 9. Replace gauges, front seats, and steering wheel. 10. Maybe add a supercharger and custom hood later. I was just wanting some opinions, advice, or any input you all might have. The 3800 is still working fine (even though both the valve cover gaskets are blown), it's just gotten really boring to drive. Dropping a 350 in it will breathe some serious life into the car, I think. So... anyone have anything to say about my plans? |
