Steering Knuckle/Tie Rod Damage? by CowboyXmas

I have a 2000 Silverado 1500 z71 that I do mild offroading with. Lately there has been a creaking noise whenever I make a turn at a decent angle. This didnt start immediately after a trip offroad, maybe a week after. There was no damage done that I know of done on the trip (at least there was no incident) but now it is happening more frequently, pretty much every time I have to make a 90 degree turn. Any ideas on what it could be and how serious this is? Maybe a tie rod or steering knuckle?

describe the noise more, does it happen as you are turning the wheel or as you are moving in a turn?

It happens more during the progression of a turn, its a low, slow creaking that quits as soon as I straighten out. Its not constant, more of an offset rythym if I travel in a circle, and definately louder and in a faster succession when I track to the right. It sounds like a sharp successive groaning. The truck is a 2000 Silverado 1500 z71 if that helps too. It bottomed out offroad a while back that bent a bracket on the drivers left of the skidplate, but the damage seems to be only a bent bracket and the noise started probably a month after that.
