Air leaking from tire bead by 2000gls

I have a 2000 Intrigue with the chromed aluminum wheels. I was having a problem with air leaking from the tire bead. When the tire was removed from the rim it was found that the chrome plating was peeling from around the bead area on the rim causing the leak. It was also noted that the chrome plating was bubbling and peeling from the back side of the rim. A wheel shop smoothed the rim where it contacts the tire and painted it. The cost including re and re of the tire and rebalance was 140.00 Canadian. I feel that eventually I will have to do all the wheels.

Check on E-bay for prices. Lots of auto shops sell products. There are few that specialize in Intrigues parts. It may save you some money in the long run.
