We recently leased a Passat wagon. The finance person really did the hard sell on us to take up the VW lease insurance, which covers you for wear and tear/damage at lease end. She went on and on about how hard VW was now being at turn-in on any wear and tear items and how this $500 policy could really save us money in the long term. Looking back I should have walked out there and then, she was so obnoxious. But at the time I just wanted the car with no extra money wasted, so I refused the coverage. Did anyone else take it? Does anyone have experience of VW being harsh at turn-in? I dealt with them about 6 years ago and they were very fair... Thanks in advance.
