I have an oil leak above the starter or in that area...What would be the problem?

I have a 2001 Chevy Astro. I checked with the dealer and they said I had the right Dip Stick for this year and make of vehicle. This vehicle has a oil cooler on it. I just had a complete oil change and the machanic said he put up to 7 quarts of oil in it and it would not read on the dip stick. The guage on the dash reads between 4 and 6. Any Ideas on why the dip stick will not read the amount of oil in the engine?- « Previous
