My 02 venture sounds like a tank. There was oil in it at first, but leaked out when pressure caused oil filter gasket to fail. after filter was replaced oil added it still sounds same, with oil cap off there seems to be no oil making it to the top of the motor. Has anyone had the same/similar problem? I guess it to be oil pump.

My Dip stick will not read the oil by wiseman32210

I have a 2001 Chevy Astro. I checked with the dealer and they said I had the right Dip Stick for this year and make of vehicle. This vehicle has a oil cooler on it. I just had a complete oil change and the machanic said he put up to 7 quarts of oil in it and it would not read on the dip stick. The guage on the dash reads between 4 and 6. Any Ideas on why the dip stick will not read the amount of oil in the engine?
