Hi..I'm new here and I'm considering buying a 2006 Magnum R/T (Hemi). It's used, 29K, absolute mint. I have had a few muscle cars over the last few years...Vette, Mustang GT, etc. I'm looking to replace my mini-van with this car, it will be my car. I sold my mint (red on red) '78 Vette last year but that's another story I look at it (the Magnum) as a daily driver/cruise night car rolled into one!...I now work from home, so, I won't rack miles on it. My two concerns are: reliability and gas mileage. How reliable is your car and what sort of gas mileage can I really expect? I've heard many good stories regarding reliability and miles but want to hear from folks like you..My judgement is a bit clouded as my only Dodge/Mopar experience was with my Dad's Fury III and Plymouth Satellite...they were not good memories of reliability...but I do remember the Sat's engine when he hit the gas! Replying to: sidmeister (Mar 03, 2009 5:48 pm) I purchased a use Dodge Magnum R/T about one year ago today. It is a 2005 and yes with the Hemi. I average only 40 miles a day traveling combined highways and backroads to work and my average gas milage is 17 mpg. (occassionally, not a lot, I do put the pedal to the metal) so I could probably do a little better if my driving habits change. So far, the car has been very dependable. When I purchased it about a year ago, I was slightly worried because it too was in mint condition with only 15,000 miles. Now a year later, with 24,000 miles on it, I would trade it for the world or a Mustang GT.
