My check engine light had been on, needed a smog check done to renew my registration, and procrastinated. I unplugged my battery, got the light off, and was Rejected for the smog test. I don't want to pay a ridiculous amount of money to get it reset and was told if I drive it a certain amount of miles I can get the computer to reset itself. Anyone know how many miles? I am short on time.

It's also possible that the parts store could clear the codes for you. But if there's a bad sensor or something, the light will probably get triggered again quickly. And if something's wrong it could be costing you mpg and performance. |
