We have a 95 Trooper LS 3.2 with 140,000 miles. Just started making a racket. Mechanic diagnosed as a bad rod bearing. Big $ just to tear down to see how bad the problem is. Could be just a new bearing($1500), an entire engine rebuild($3500) or buy a used engine($4500). The truck is in other wise god shape but this is more than it's worth. We've had it since new and would hate to see it go. Any suggestions on a cheaper fix or engine swap? Thanks
