Replying to: umbkmm (May 24, 2009 5:04 pm) I noticed that the 09 tacoma's are several hundred pounds heavier than the 08s I asked the dealer why and he said that toyota made some mods to the frame. I suspect they are now going after the rust. I guess the next campaign will be 2005 to 2008 Tacoma's?

Replying to: RustyTaco2005 (Feb 06, 2009 10:07 am) I have a 2006 with 26,000 miles. The frame is covered with rust. I refuse to park it in my driveway because it is ruining the cement. I contacted Toyota this week and they basically told me there is nothing that they will do. They told me to contact my dealer and they would inspect the truck and I would be responsible for all costs. They did say to save my receipts and if they ever decided to include my model year in the Customer Service Program, I would get reimbursed.   If having this issue too, please call Toyota and complain. I also filed a complaint with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and with my state attorney general's office. Nothing will get accomplished if we all don't complain!

Replying to: RustyTaco2005 (Feb 06, 2009 10:07 am) I don't know if my 2005 has a Dana frame or not, but it sure has a problem with rust. The frame has been scraped down twice - the first time it was repainted and rust-proofed but the rust came back two weeks later.
